Norton Rose Fulbright advises Webcentral on the sale of its retail domains and hosting business

Global law firm Norton Rose Fulbright has advised Webcentral Limited (ASX:WCG) (Webcentral) on the sale of its retail domains and hosting business, for a total transaction value of A$165 million, and strategic partnership with Oakley Capital and its investment partners.

Webcentral is an Australian-owned digital services company and a leading provider of cloud enabling solutions. It services over 330,000 customers with a full product suite of innovative and scalable digital services across Australia and New Zealand. 

Oakley Capital is a European private equity firm with approx. €10 billion in assets under management.

The deal unlocks value for Webcentral and its shareholders and will see Webcentral retain a one-third equity interest in the domains business and sell $12 million of cloud and managed support services to the business over 5 years.

The Norton Rose Fulbright team comprising local and internationally based lawyers advised on the deal including transaction structuring and negotiating and drafting of all key transaction documents.

Previously, in 2021, Norton Rose Fulbright advised 5G Networks Limited (5GN) on the merger of its business with Webcentral Limited (formerly Webcentral Group Limited) by way of a reverse takeover implemented via a scheme of arrangement under Part 5.1 of the Corporations Act 2001 (Cth) between 5GN and its members.
